I think this is a real danger in forgiveness. I have heard so many people telling me that the reason I forgive is to 'help myself'. When we believe that forgivness does become a selfish act. I believe we forgive because we are seeking to live like Christ and in doing so we imitate him. It is a powerful statement to the world of our identity as his followers.

Its nice that we often feel good after it!
