03/18/2003 Entry: "Oystermouth Castle"

oystermouth (21k image)

This is Oystermouth Castle, which stands on a small limestone ridge overlooking Swansea Bay. It was founded in the 12th Century by the Lords of Gower. There is no excuse for posting this except I'm not feeling well enough to tackle any serious issues tonight and I thought the blue sky might cheer someone up. And, of course, the chance to show off the fruits of my new digital camera.

I like the picture. My wife has be begging me to take her to England and Scottland -- now I have visual inspiration!

Yeah, like you need to hear I'm coming to town when you're already sick!-)

Thanks, Richard. Your castle picture certainly helps *me* feel better. I hope you do too.

For those of us in the USA, the sight of castles is a wonder indeed. My son and I spent ten days in Scotland in 2000. Despite the restrictions due to foot and mouth, we still got to see lots of castles. It was a jaw-dropping experience to stand in such an old structure. We can't do that where I live.

God bless you.

Hope you feel better soon!

By golly Richard that lovely old edifice rivals the O'Donnell castle in Co. Donegal, Ireland. The sky there (in Donegal) is not quite so blue, however... ;-)Nice photo.Rick
