03/17/2003 Entry: "Time's up"
Whether it's for good or ill, it looks like the decision has been made and we'll soon be at war. I'm very (very!) unconvinced of either the legal or moral basis for this action, but I know there are many Christians who disagree with me. How can we pray together?Surely, only on the basis of "thy will be done."

Sounds like your very convinced -- that the war is wrong. I think leaving a tortuous tyrant in power when we have the means to stop him is the greater evil. But you're right that we all need to pray for a speedy end to this. Pray also for President Bush, his advisers, and the military, that they would all have the wisdom not to exceed their bounds and that they would have the strength and courage to do what it takes.

I will join you in that prayer. I am a Christian who disagrees with your position, but I'm not so cocky that I think I can't be wrong in my position. If you read my weblog entry today you will see where my concerns lie. I do hope that Christians can come together in prayer about this matter. Our unity in prayer is more important to me than any national or ideological boundaries.
