01/26/2003 Entry: "Just one more thing..."
One last thing before I call it a night.
Just what is this "soup bowl" the Americans have been getting so worked up about today?
Replies:
Jan is right -- union rules, the way God intended the game.
(you know, my knee still swells up during cold snaps because of that game !-)

Oh, it's a day in late January where everyone brings a can of soup or a dollar to church and donates it to a local foodbank. Here's the link: http:\\www.souperbow.org
(See, we Americans can pun too!)

What else is there but Rugby Union? I looked at this yesterday in my blog. Shalom, Jan

A rugby-playing American sounds like a cultural paradox!Which code - Union or League?

You know Darren, I'd make a wise-crack in reply to your chicken soup remark, but I played some rugby back in my 20 'sumthings,' so this prop is letting you off the hooker.

Its a sporting event where the fighting takes place on the field, instead of in the stands (I'm ducking for cover as you read this!-)
