12/20/2002 Entry: "Engaging others' interest"
One of the puzzles of this blogging malarkey is my absolute inability to judge what others will find intersting or useful, at least if comments and links are anything to go by (and what else is there?). Sometimes I have posted a piece which I have been sure was a waste of time, and found half a dozen comments added by the next day. Other times, my pride has told me that I've posted something which will get my fellow bloggers "tongues wagging" and been met with - - - - In "the grand scheme of things" I suppose it isn't a matter of great consequence, but I find it slightly disconcerting. It seems I'm not the only one who has this trouble. Yesterday I mentioned Martin Roth's piece about pastor stealing. Dean at blogs4God mentioned it too, and I thought that this would produce a flurry of responses from Christian blogs. But not a bit of it. Apart from looking back...looking forward, I haven't seen much response.I'm not sure it means anything. I just find it strange.
Replies:
Hopefully the comments Martin asked for will go to him first.
Then, as discussion grows, perhaps those of us that posted on it or offered opinion will find other blogs and avenues to discuss it. Or not. Blog on!

I have had the same experience. Yesterday, I all but claimed that Christmas traditions were pagan.... and not a peep.
Wednesday, a moving Advent Prayer.. no comments...
Tuesday, a three part post ending with If your happy and you know it bomb iraq....
Monday, Jesus action figures and a Huggy Jesus stuffed doll
What does a weblog have to do to get traffic, comments, and most importantly dialogue!
Grace & Peace....
