04/05/2004 Entry: "Birds of a Feather"
Bloger Idol, Week 12
I haven't entered anything for a while, but thought this joke fitted the bill (if not the beak!) for this week's theme.
Each evening bird lover Tom stood in his garden, hooting like an owl. One glad night, Tom was delighted to hear an owl calling back to him. For a year, Tom and his feathered friend hooted to and fro. He even kept a log of the "conversation."
Just when Tom thought he was on the verge of a breakthrough in human-strigiform communication, his wife had a chat with their next door neighbour.
"My husband spends his nights calling out to owls," she said.
"That's odd," the neighbour replied. "My husband does too."
