03/24/2004 Entry: "Scratching my head..."

This blogging malarkey can be deeply strange. You spend ages preparing a piece that you think has something really important to say -- and no one takes any notice. You clear your throat and harumph, and suddenly everyone has something to say about it. I'm not complaining, I just don't understand.

While we're on the subject, how come the most common Google search that brings people to connexions is "Lily the Pink"?

I can't believe that so many people are searching for "Lily the pink", but since you put the lyrics up in June last year, is is any wonder that you are so popular? You are second in google list!

If it's any consolation, people have come to mine looking for "St John's tutors" (as far as I'm aware I've never mentioned one of them!), "alice smelly feet" and "blonde cars". Make of Google surfers what you will! Mind boggles. I liked being reminded of Lily the Pink.

So long as you've got the bandwidth, I say enjoy the hits, just make sure you've added lots of Google Ads to the comment section so you can buy me the first round when you visit the States. Or was that the other way around? Hmmm ... sounds like we'll need to rounds to figure it all out.

"Lily the Pink" is a great song, isn't it?
Dean - I'll be glad to buy a round if you can promise the beer will be up to muster...
