02/06/2004 Entry: "Published!"

The Methodist Recorder is the newspaper of British Methodism, and a very noble organ it is too. What it has never been big on is what's happening on the internet. The occasional website gets a mention, but there isn't much in the way of how the internet is different. A few weeks ago I decided to send them a short piece on blogging, thinking "If I don't don't do it, who will?" and yesterday it fetched up on the back page. Yay! Sadly, my scanner seems to have "given up the ghost" so I can't easily show the article as it appeared, but I will blog the text in the next day or two. It was accompanied by a screen shot of The Living Room, and jolly nice it looks. It's a testimony to Rachel's design skills that even on a screen shot barely 3" wide on newsprint, the text was still legible.

What I want to know is, am I now qualified to call myself a writer? Or does the old proverb "One swallow doesn't make a summer" apply?

Hey, you got published.
Enjoy!

And I think it's grand some Methodist buddies may discover blogging because of your effort.
Good for you.

So, find a scanner somewhere and let's see what you had to say eh? Blog on!

My pencil sharpener has broken but instead of getting a new one I may think about getting a computer of ny own :-)

Well done!
