02/03/2004 Entry: "The cut and thrust of intellectual debate"

Some little time ago I linked to "Protest Warrior", which claims it "strikes at the intellectual solar plexus of the Left". It's taken a while, but they've noticed - and offered a cogent, reasoned response to my post on their bulletin board. I can't pick up the argument there, not being a member of said BB, so let me make my reply here, with the same courtesy and logical rigour that they have offered me.

Yah boo. Sucks to you. With knobs on.
I feel better for that!

It's a beautiful thing.

Educate an American here... what does "with knobs on mean?"

It feels gratifying to say it -- and makes me laugh when I hear it said in conjunction with yah-boo but not quite sure what I am spouting...

Is this the new liturgical way to greet my Bishop?

It isn't easy to explain. I should probably call it a superlative, or something like that. It's playground stuff, or at least it used to be.
I don't know that it is a very suitable greeting for a bishop, especially if you're looking for a job!

I understand -- so I should use it only if the Bishop is on a playground?
